Connecting local families

Providing support in times of need

Creating the village

Mums for Mums purpose is to bring the community together and provide support for the families of Sydneys Northern Beaches.

We have two main objectives:

1. To create an environment that allows our local mums to connect, and feel a sense of community, support and belonging. We do this through community events and fundraising efforts – There are a lot of laughs to be had at Mums for Mums!

2. Provide care and support to families going through loss and bereavement. We are able to provide assistance through these incredibly difficult time with cleaning, laundry, meals, rosters for car pooling, taking people to treatment and physical and mental rehabilitation. As each family’s situation is different,  the support they require differs. We consult with the families directly to determine how Mums for Mums can best provide the appropriate help. We simply provide  support to the families to enable them to  spend quality time together.

At Mums for Mums, we are all about creating strong, meaningful connections to support mums, dads and family units both in everyday life, and when they need us the most.

Mums for Mums was established in 2011 as a one off fundraiser to help a friend who was battling cancer for a second time.  After this fundraiser we were approached to support other families in need and we grew from there.

In total we have now supported 39  families, and the list is growing. Each family is unique and has required different support from us.

They say it takes a village to raise a child – we are that village!
